About Fells Point Main Street

Fell’s Point Main Street (FPMS) is the name of our community’s Baltimore Main Streets organization, a campaign initiated in 2003 by the Fell’s Point Business Association and members of our community. Fell’s Point Main Street has been created to proactively generate the revitalization of Fell’s Point commercial and historic districts including the Broadway Corridor.

Like many neighborhoods across country, Fell’s Point is experiencing growing pains associated with the economic, political and social pressures of residential expansion and commercial/urban revitalization. Since these pressures affect the entire community, it is essential that we work together and carefully plan for the future.

That is where the Main Street Program can help. The directive of the Baltimore Main Streets program, which is a program of Baltimore City,  is to provide assistance to communities like ours in planning, designing and managing their physical environment, specifically, vacant buildings, streetscapes, public facilities and open spaces. Further, they help identify proven solutions for growth-related issues within the community. As a Main Street organization, Fell’s Point businesses and residents alike gain a powerful resource and advocate. And that is something worth embracing.

This  Season  the Covid-19 pandemic is  threatening  to  do  what  the  British,  Civil  War  Troops,  and  the  Interstate  Highway  System  could  not:  take  down  Fells  Point.  We  need  a  miracle,  or  at  least  some  well  thrown  Joe  Flacco  Super  Bowl  touchdown  passes  for  Fells  Point  to  thrive  once  again.  This Holiday Season we are confronting this very challenging threat to our continued vibrancy.  FPMS is putting together programs to help promote safety and prevent the losses of small businesses that enrich this beautiful waterfront neighborhood. One such initiative is to promote historic and quaint Fells Point, with its atmospheric streets and old world vibe,  as Baltimore’s Holiday Village. FPMS is key to advocating on  the  behalf  of small businesses to government and through disbursing relief funds to our struggling homegrown stores. Unfortunately,  COVID-19 is preventing  FPMS from creating community events and collecting  sponsorship dollars. The ability of FPMS to help struggling small businesses is severely compromised and threatens the continued success of one of the crown jewels of Baltimore.

Fells Point Main Street promotes and encourages the renaissance of the iconic Fells Point Business District, strengthening the entire historic community. To succeed, we need you! Fell’s Point Main Street is seeking members, volunteers and tax-deductible donations. With your support, we can help Fell’s Point realize its full potential!
