About Fell’s Point Main Street
Fells Point Main Street (FPMS) is the name of our community’s Baltimore Main Streets organization, a campaign initiated in 2003 by the Fells Point Business Association and members of our community. Fells Point Main Street has been created to proactively generate the revitalization of Fells Point commercial and historic districts including the Broadway Corridor.
The boundaries that are the focus for Fell’s Point Main Street are the following :
North: Fleet Street from Chester to Caroline and Broadway to Pratt
South: Thames from Wolfe to Caroline
East: Caroline from Fleet to Thames
West: Chester from Fleet to Aliceanna and Fells Street to the water
Like many neighborhoods across country, Fells Point is experiencing growing pains associated with the economic, political and social pressures of residential expansion and commercial/urban revitalization. Since these pressures affect the entire community, it is essential that we work together and carefully plan for the future.
That is where the Main Street Program can help. The directive of the Baltimore Main Streets program, which is a program of Baltimore City, is to provide assistance to communities like ours in planning, designing and managing their physical environment, specifically, vacant buildings, streetscapes, public facilities and open spaces. Further, they help identify proven solutions for growth-related issues within the community. As a Main Street organization, Fells Point businesses and residents alike gain a powerful resource and advocate. And that is something worth embracing.
Fells Point Main Street promotes and encourages the renaissance of the iconic Fells Point Business District, strengthening the entire historic community. To succeed, we need you! Our Vision
We will promote and encourage economic development while strengthening and revitalizing the greater Fells Point Business District in ways that meet the needs of businesses, residents and visitors alike, while at the same time preserving and enhancing the district’s historical character.
Board of Directors Meetings
Fell’s Point Main Street Board Meetings occur on the 1st Tuesday of every month from 4:30-6:00p. The location changes every month so please check the website calendar for updates. We encourage the Fell’s Point community to attend! Contact the Executive Director for more info.
